Carroll Rolls Into Center Grove With Momentum, Trojans Look to Rebound in Early‑Season Showdown

Carroll @ Center Grove

Center Grove enters Friday night searching for answers after a tough 20–14 home loss to Warren Central, a game where the Trojans couldn’t quite finish drives or seize momentum late. Despite flashes of execution, Center Grove never fully settled into rhythm, and the defeat dropped them to 0–1. The Trojans now face a Carroll team that looked explosive in its opener and will need to tighten up offensively and defensively to avoid falling into an early-season hole. Carroll, meanwhile, arrives with confidence and firepower after dismantling Hamilton Southeastern 54–23 behind a record-setting performance from senior quarterback Gabe Frisinger. His 380 yards and seven touchdowns, paired with Harry Scheele’s 231 yards and five scores, powered a Chargers offense that was essentially unstoppable from the opening snap. Carroll led 40–14 at halftime and cruised to its fifth straight home win dating back to last season, improving to 1–0. Friday’s matchup at Center Grove offers a compelling contrast: the Trojans’ disciplined, physical style against Carroll’s explosive, tempo-driven attack. Center Grove will aim to control possession and keep Carroll’s offense off the field, while the Chargers look to push pace, attack space, and force the Trojans into a track meet. With Carroll hitting the road for the first time this season and Center Grove eager to avoid an 0–2 start, this early-season clash has all the makings of a statement game for both programs.
